Question
Who among the following likes
Red? Study the following information carefully and answer the question given below: Seven persons A, B, C, D, E, F and G live on seven different floors of a building, but not necessarily in the same order. The lowermost floor of the building is numbered one; the one above it is number two and so on till the topmost floor. Each of them also likes a different colour and fruit . The colour  they like are- Pink, White, Black , Green, Red, Blue, Yellow and fruit  – Apple, Banana, Mango, Grapes, Papaya, Watermelon, Orange but not necessarily in the same order. Only one person lives between the one who likes Red and the one who likes Blue. D does not like Red. G does not like Pink. The one who likes Watermelon lives immediate above the one who likes Red. E lives on one of the floors below B, but does not live on the lowermost floor. The one who lives 7th floor is immediate above the one, who lives immediate below the one who likes Orange. There are three persons between B and E. The one who likes Green lives on the odd-numbered floors below F. A lives immediately above F and does not like Black . F does not like Grapes and Banana. The one who likes Mango lives immediate above the one who likes Papaya. The one who likes Blue also likes Banana. Only one person lives between B and the one who likes Black . The one who likes Papaya lives below the one who likes Apple. Only two persons live between G and the One who likes Black . The one who likes White lives on one of the even-numbered floors above the one who likes Black . The one who likes Yellow lives immediately above G. D lives on one of the floor above C. ÂSolution
The one who lives 7th floor is immediate above the one, who lives immediate below the one who likes Orange. So the one who likes Orange lives on 7th floor. E lives on one of the floors below B, but does not live on the lowermost floor. There are three persons between B and E. So here we get two cases one when B lives on 6th floor and the other when B lives on 7th floor. Case 1 :-Â Â Only one person lives between B and the one who likes Black . The one who likes White lives on one of the even-numbered floors above the one who likes Black . Only two persons live between G and the One who likes Black . Here we get further two more cases so we hold this case and move further with the other one case. Case 2:- Only one person lives between B and the one who likes Black .The one who likes White lives on one of the even-numbered floors above the one who likes Black . Only two persons live between G and the One who likes Black . The one who likes Yellow lives immediately above G. A lives immediately above F and does not like Black. The one who likes Green lives on the odd-numbered floors below F. so only one place left for Green i.e. 1st floor. And for A and F 6th and 5th floor respectively. D lives on one of the floor above C. so one place left for C is 1st floor. Now, The one who likes Watermelon lives immediate above the one who likes Red. Only one person lives between the one who likes Red and the one who likes Blue. D does not like Red. So, only one place left for Red i. e. 2nd floor. The one who likes Mango lives immediate above the one who likes Papaya. The one who likes Papaya lives below the one who likes Apple. So, only one place left for Madona and Papaya i.e. 2nd and 1st floor respectively. While F does not like Grapes and Banana. So F likes Apple and A likes Grapes.
Therefore, this is the final arrangement.Â
