    Solution

    Amit’s rank from the left end = 15th. Dev’s rank from the right end = 15th. Subham, who is fifth to the right of Amit, is fourth to the left of Dev in the row So, total no. of boys in the row = (Subham’s Rank from the left end + Subham’s Rank from the right end) – 1 = [(15 + 5) + (15 + 4)] – 1 = 49 – 1 = 48
