Question

    Six students (U, V, W, X, Y and Z) sit in a linear row

facing south in a classroom but not necessarily in the same order. One person sits between U and W. Two persons sit to the right of W. Y sits third to the right of X. X doesn’t sit adjacent to V or Z. Who sits second to the left of X?
A Z Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B V Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C U Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Cannot be determined Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

W sits third from extreme left end of row. One person sits between U and W.  Y sits third to the right of X. X doesn’t sit adjacent to V or Z. We get U sits either at extreme left or second from extreme right end of row. Y sits at extreme left end of row. Either Z or V sits at extreme right end of row. The final arrangement is as follows: Either Z or V sits second to the left of X. Y         Z/V      W        X         U         V/Z
