Question

LZ, MZ, NZ, PZ, QZ, RZ, WZ, and XZ attend a concert and sit around the circular table. They all are facing toward the center of the circular table.  PZ sits third to the left of XZ. MZ sits opposite to QZ. MZ is not the immediate neighbor of either PZ or XZ. NZ sits to the immediate right of WZ. NZ doesn't sit opposite to XZ. Only one person sits between LZ and RZ. RZ is not the immediate neighbor of Q. How many people sit between NZ and PZ,  when counted from the right of NZ?

B 1 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 2 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 3 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

 PZ sits third to the left of XZ.  MZ is not the immediate neighbor of either PZ or XZ. So, there are two possible cases.  MZ sits opposite to QZ. QZ either sits to the immediate right of PZ or the immediate left of QZ.  No person sits between WZ and NZ while counting from the right of WZ.  NZ doesn’t sit opposite to XZ. So, case-2 is cancelled because NZ sits opposite to XZ in that case.  Only one person sits between LZ and RZ.  RZ is not the immediate neighbor of QZ. So, LZ sits opposite NZ, and RZ sits immediately left of PZ.   Final arrangement is shown below: It is clear that there are 2 people (MZ and RZ) between NZ and PZ when counted from the right of N. Hence, the correct answer is (C).
