    In each of the questions below are given two statements followed by three conclusions numbered I, II and III. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements: All AC are Fans. All Fans are

    Coolers. Conclusions: I. All AC are Coolers. II. Some Fans are AC. III. No AC is a Cooler.

    Solution

    All AC are Fans (A) + All Fans are Coolers (A) = All AC are Coolers (A). Hence, conclusion I will follow. All AC are fans. (A) ⇒ conversion ⇒ Some Fans are AC. Hence, conclusion II will also follow. Both the statements are positive from which no negative conclusion can be drawn. Hence, conclusion III will not follow.
