    In each question below there are four statements followed by three conclusions1, 2 and 3. You have to take the four given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions does not follow from the four given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements-

    Some pens are sharpeners

    All sharpeners are erasers

    No eraser is ink

    Some inks are pencil

    Conclusions.

    Solution

    No eraser is ink(E) + Some inks are pencil(I) ⇒ Some pencil are not erasers(I). Hence conclusion I follows but conclusion III does not follow. Some pens are sharpeners(I) + All sharpeners are erasers (A) ⇒ Some pens are erasers(I) ⇒ Probable Conclusion ⇒ All pens being eraser is a possibility(A). Hence conclusion II follows.
