You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts.     Some roses are sunflowers. Some sunflowers are lotus. Conclusions:                       I. Some lotus are roses. II. No lotus is a rose

    Solution

    Some roses are sunflowers (I) + Some sunflowers are lotus (I) ⇒ No conclusion. Hence neither conclusion I nor II follow but it will make a complementary pair, hence, either conclusion I or II follows.
