In each question below are given three statements followed by three conclusions numbered I, II and III. You have to take the two given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the three given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements:

    Some train are fire engine.

    Some bus are train.

    Conclusions:

    I. Some bus are fire engine.

    II. Some train are ambulance.

    III. Some train are bus.

A Only I follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Only II follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Only III follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Only I and II follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Some train are fire engine (I) + Some train are bus (I) ⇒ No conclusion. Hence, conclusion I will not follow. All ambulance are fire engine (A) + Some train are fire engine (I) ⇒ No conclusion. Hence, conclusion II will also not follow. Some bus are train (I) ⇒ conversion ⇒ Some train are bus(I). Hence, conclusion III will follow.
