You have to assume all the statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from the commonly known facts and then decide which of the given two conclusions logically follows from the information given in the statements.

    Statements:

    All Light are Pole

    Some Steel is Light

    No Pole is Metal

    Conclusions:

    Solution

    All Light are Pole (A) + No Pole is Metal (E) → No Light is a Metal (E) → Probable conclusion → No conclusion. Hence conclusion I does not follow. Some Steel is Light (I) + All Light are Pole (A) → Some Steel are Pole (I) → Probable conclusion → All Pole may be Steel (A). Hence conclusion II follows.
