    In each question below, there are some statements followed by three conclusions numbered I, II and III. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows follow(s) from the given statements.

    Statements:  No unit is measurement. Some

    measurements are lines. Only a few units are points. Conclusions:  I. Some points are not lines. II. Some units are lines. III. All points are lines.

    Solution

    No measurement is unit (E) + Some units are points (I) → Some points are not measurements (O*) + Some measurements are lines (I) → No conclusion. Hence neither conclusion I nor II follow but it will make a complementary pair. Hence either conclusion I or II follows. No unit is measurements (E) + Some measurements are lines (I) → Some lines are not units (O*). Hence conclusion II does not follow.
