Question

In the question below are given four statements followed by three conclusions numbered I, II and III. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

Statements:  Only a few Balloon are String.

All Balloon are Colour. Only a few Strings are Scales. All Scales are Toffee. Conclusions: I. Some Colours are String. II. All Strings can be Toffee. III. Some Toffees are Balloon.
A Only III follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Only I and II follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Only I and III follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Only II and III follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Some Balloon are String (I) → Conversion → Some String are Balloon (I) + All Balloon are Colour (A) → Some String are Colour (I) → Conversion → Some Colours are String (I). Hence conclusion I follows. Some Strings are Scales (I) + All Scales are Toffee (A) → Some Strings are Toffee (I) → Probable Conclusion →  All Strings can be Toffee (A). Hence conclusion II follows. Some Balloon are String (I) + Some Strings are Scales (I) → No conclusion. Hence conclusion III does not follow.
