In the question below there are four statements followed by three conclusions I, II and III. You have to take the four given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the four statements disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements:

    Each arm is leg.

    Some hands are eyes.

    No arm is an ear.

    Conclusions:

    I. Some arms are eyes.

II. Some leg being ears is a possibility.

    III. Some hands are ears.

A Only conclusion I and conclusion II follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Only conclusion I follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Only conclusion II and conclusion III follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D All conclusions I, II and III follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E Only conclusion III follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Some hands are eyes (I) → Conversion → Some eyes are hands (I) + All hands are arms (A) → Some eyes are arms (I) → Conversion → Some arms are eyes (I). Hence conclusion I follows. No arm is an ear (E) → Conversion → No ear is an arm (E) + Each arm is leg (A) → Some leg are not ear (O) → Probable conclusion →  Some leg may be ears (I). Hence conclusion II follows. All hands are arms (A) + No arm is an ear (E) → No hand is an ear (E). Hence conclusion III does not follow.
