    In the questions given below there are three statements followed by three conclusions I, II and III. You have to take the three given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions definitely follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements: A few spine is leg. No leg is

    hand. All hand is arm. Only arm is shoulder. Conclusions: I. Some hand is shoulder. II. A few arm being leg is a possibility. III. All spine being hand is a possibility.

    Solution

    Only arm is shoulder → All shoulder are arm and shoulder cannot have any positive relation with anyone. Hence conclusion I does not follow. No leg is hand (E) + All hand is arm (A) → Some arm are not leg (O*) → Probable conclusion → Some arm may be leg (I). Hence conclusion II follows. A few spine is leg (I) + No leg is hand (E) → Some spine are not hand (O) → Probable conclusion → All hand may be spine (I). Hence conclusion III does not follow.
