    In the questions given below there are three statements followed by three conclusions I, II and III. You have to take the three given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements: Some exercise are gym. All gym

    are supplement. Some equipment are supplement. Conclusions: I. Some exercise are equipment. II. Some exercise are supplement. III. No gym is equipment.

    Solution

    Some exercise are gym (I)  + All gym are supplement (A) → Some exercise are supplement (I) + [Some equipment are supplement (I)  → Conversion → Some supplement are equipment (I) → No conclusion. Hence conclusion I does not follow but conclusion II follows. All gym are supplement (A) + [Some equipment are supplement (I) → Conversion] → Some supplement are equipment (I) → No conclusion. Hence conclusion III does not follow.
