    In the question below, three statements are given followed by two conclusions. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements:  Some Mountains are not Rivers.

    All Rivers are Hills. Only a few Hills are Oceans. Conclusions: I. Some River are Oceans. II. No River are Oceans.

    B Only II follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C Either I or II follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D Neither I nor II follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    All Rivers are Hills (A) + Only a few Hills are Oceans (I) → No conclusion. Hence neither conclusion I nor II follows but it will make a complementary pair i.e. I-E. Hence either conclusion I or II follows.
