    In the question below, three statements are given followed by two conclusions. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

    Statements:  Only a few Comedians are Hosts.

    All Hosts are Anchors. No Anchor is a Show. Conclusions: I. Some Comedians are not Hosts. II. Some Hosts can never be Shows.

    Solution

    Only a few Comedians are Hosts → Some Comedians are not Hosts (O) and Some Comedians are Hosts (I). Hence conclusion I follows. All Hosts are Anchors (A) + No Anchor is a Show (E) → No Host is a Show (E) → Conversion →  Some Hosts can never be Shows (O). Hence conclusion II follows.
