     In each question below are given two statements followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to take the two given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from thetwo given statements, disregarding commonly known facts. Give Answer:

    Statements: All trees are plants. No

    plant is a flower. Conclusions: I.  Some plants are not flowers. II.  Some trees are flowers.

    Solution

    No plant is a flower (E) ⇒ I.I. ⇒ Some plants are not flowers (O). Hence, conclusion I follows. All trees are plants (A) + No plant is a flower (E) ⇒ No tree is a flower(E). Hence, conclusion II will not follow.
