Every year the Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level Examination. This year too, the Staff Selection Commission has released the notification for the recruitment of employees/officers in the various government departments, Ministries and offices under the Government of India, for different posts.

What is SSC?

SSC is the acronym for Staff Selection Commission and it is a government body that is associated with the Department of Personnel and Training.

What is SSC CGL?

CGL stands for Combined Graduate Level Examination and  is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for the recruitment of Group B and Group C Officers for positions like Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Examiner), Inspector (Preventive Officer) and more.

SSC CGL exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit employees for different reputable organizations like the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Central Secretariat, the Ministry of Railways, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Central Bureau of Investigation and many more.

Staff Selection Commission has invited applications of the interested candidates for a whopping 20,000 vacancies for various posts in different government departments through its notification for SSC CGL 2022 exam released on 17th September 2022

  Section-Wise Analysis of the previous five year papers

  1. General Intelligence – Based on our analysis of the past six years, we can conclude that the highest number of questions were asked from topics like analogy, odd one out, series, coding-decoding, mathematical operations and missing terms. On an Average 3-4 questions were asked for these topics
  2. English Language –  Most of the questions asked in this section were from topics like Fill in the blanks, Sentence improvement, error detection, synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases, spelling correction and one-word substitution. The highest number of questions asked were from passage like reading comprehension and cloze test
  3. Quantitative aptitude – The maximum number of questions asked were from areas like profit and loss, geometry, number systems, mensuration, trigonometry, algebra and DI. An average of 3-4 questions were asked on these topics.
  4. General Awareness – Highest number of questions were asked from current affairs and static awareness. A good number of questions were asked from history, polity, economics, biology, geography and chemistry
