LIC Assistant Prelims Exam Analysis (Overall):

LIC Assistant Prelims exam is an online mode objective type paper. The preliminary exam for LIC Assistant consists of three sections- Numerical Ability (35 questions), Reasoning (35 questions) and English/Hindi Language (30 questions) with an overall time limit of 60 minutes for 100 questions. Each section has individual time limit also.

Numerical Ability:

LIC Assistant Prelims Numerical Ability section consist of 35 questions with a time limit of 20 minutes. Overall difficulty level of this section can be said to be easy to moderate. The question wise break up is given below

• Missing Number Series – 5 Questions
• Simplifications – 15 questions
• DI (Line Graph) – 5 questions (Details of calculators sold were given)
• Arithmetic – 10 questions (Boat & Streams, Time & Distance, partnership, SI etc.)

Reasoning:

LIC Assistant Prelims Reasoning section consists of 35 questions with a time limit of 20 minutes. Overall difficulty level was easy to moderate. Question wise break up is given below

• Puzzle and seating arrangement – 15 questions (Floor Based Puzzle  consisting of 8 People and 4 Floors, Flat A & Flat B), Circular Seating Arrangement (all facing inside) and Day Based Puzzle (7 people))
• Inequality – 5 questions
• Syllogism – 5 questions (two questions are of new pattern and rest are of old pattern)
• Blood relation – 3 questions
• Alphabet Series – 2 questions
• Number Series – 5 questions

English Language:

LIC Assistant Prelims English Language section consists of 30 questions with a time limit of 20 questions. Overall the difficulty level was easy. Questions wise break up is given below

• Error Detection – 5 to 6 questions
• Reading Comprehension (a dog and wolf story-based) – 10 questions 
• Sentence Improvement – 3 to 4 questions
• Single Fillers – 3 to 5 questions
• Rearrangement – 5 questions (old pattern story based)
